Sireh Park

Sireh Park in Iskandar Princess is the latest attraction for the tourism sector in Johor.

The 343-acre recreational park offers a variety of interesting activities including recreation, cycling and fishing in addition to the latest kayaking activities.

Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Seri Santhara J.P said it was his intention to expand Sireh Park’s potential as one of Malaysia’s most resilient green parks.

Clearly, the effort was realized through the “Green Tourism” initiative launched to develop sustainable ecotourism in the state.

“The existence of this 340-acre park provides the best image and is also followed by a well-designed ‘urban development.

“I believe this park will be just as great as the gardens in Europe, we have many different trees not including birds, as well as other local animals,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after opening the launch of “Green Tourism” at Sireh Park, Iskandar Princess on Friday.

Clearly, the idea of Green Tourism is to preserve the sustainability of nature by establishing an eco-friendly tourism center.

In that regard, Sireh Park’s advisor Nor Hisham Hussien said the recreational park was able to offer its own uniqueness, not to mention its development in urban areas.

“Sireh Park for a little variety for example most other recreational places may have our limitations, can’t camp and can’t fish, but here we have facilities that people can use.

“Some of these fishing ponds are also open to the public,” he said.

He said the 8-kilometer hiking activity is one of the unique infrastructure provided at Sireh Park
In addition, kayaking activities on the 25-acre natural lake are also a major focus of visitors.
