Pulau Sibu

Pulau Sibu

Unlike other islands in Mersing, Sibu Island is not well known for its mixed coastline – from rocky areas to fine sandy beaches.

And the way to get here is not as easy as to go to another island around Mersing.

Often coming here, it is the island’s foot that serves other famous islands such as Rawa and wants to serve the island for them to explore.

What’s Sibu Island
Many come here to fish or even a gang of nature lovers who want to see a small island of various ecosystems.

The reason is that the island has rocky, sandy, sandy beaches, forests, mangrove swamps. Where to find a place like this in one place, right?

For those who want snorkeling, the Sibu Island area is not good for diving. So the existing snorkeling package will bring you snorkeling on the nearby Steam Island or High Island (15 minutes from Sibu Island).

Even so, if you want to treat the corals, the area around Sibu Island and Steam is less of a coral. And the water is not as clear as you would expect.

But maybe because of this water, this area is known to be a dugong habitat.

Regardless, Sibu Island has a village and there is a 3 star chalet (Sari Pacifica Resort). So if you want to rest on a rare and unspoiled island, this is one of the options that Johor has.

Way to Sibu Island
To get to Sibu Island, you need to take a boat to the Cape Leman pier.

From Johor Bharu to this pier, it takes about 2 hours. And if you’re from Mersing, the distance is within an hour’s drive.

The journey to Cape Leman is becoming less comfortable as you begin to enter Tanjung Leman Road. You will pass through a relatively quiet, narrow and surrounded area of palm oil. And the road conditions are also poor because the right-hand side of the road is red land. This uncomfortable trip you will feel in 30 minutes (30 km).

Make sure your gas is sufficient to enter the Cape Leman area.

When you get to the Cape Leman pier, you can take a boat (for 30 minutes) to Sibu Island.
