Kite Bus

Kite Bus

The bus service is unique with its eye-catching design because it has a design with the concept of a traditional Terengganu house. Seen from the outside, this bus reflects the wealth of art, culture and treasures of the east coast state. In this bus, there are songket decorations, batik and classic wood carvings. In addition, this bus is also equipped with wifi facilities, LED TV and shelves filled with tourism brochures. The fare is also very reasonable and can accommodate as many as 30 passengers.

So, if you go to Kuala Terengganu and want to save money on exploring the city, then BAS KITē is the best solution. Well, instead of taking a taxi everywhere… It’s expensive… Yes.

Let’s take a look at what BAS KITē is?

According to the results of my conversation with the BAS KITē driver when heading to the Crystal Mosque, there are only five units of this bus in Kuala Terengganu, with only five drivers. But on the route board that I managed to photograph, BAS KITē apparently only has four routes… Hhmmmhh, maybe one unit is a spare bus… Ah, I don’t know, why was I thinking about it anyway?

The uniqueness of this city bus lies in its design. When viewed from the outside, the body of this city bus resembles the architecture of a typical Terengganu house. The bus glass is designed like a curved window, while the bus roof is given a touch of distinctive carved plasterboard. Meanwhile, on the inside of the bus, the seats and the dividing area between the driver and passengers are dominated by a combination of iron and wood, full of typical Terengganu carvings… It’s really cool.

This city bus with a capacity of 36 passengers, the operational business is owned by Cas Ligas SDN. BHD whose office is in the PERMINT Tower, a tower that I pass many times every day. Cas Ligas SDN. BHD itself is a land and water transportation business in Kuala Terengganu. In Jakarta, maybe it’s a kind of PPD…

To be able to take this city bus to various tourist destinations, you have to prepare a fare ranging from 1 to 5 Ringgit depending on the distance. Cheap right?…..

The city bus that departs early in the morning is the KITē bus heading to Kuala Nerus (towards the airport but does not stop at the airport, if you want to go to the airport just use the myBAS service). The KITē bus departs exactly at half past eight in the morning and departs at intervals of 1.5 hours before noon and then departs at intervals of 2 hours once it is past noon. The last bus leaves at half past five in the afternoon from the Kuala Terengganu Airport Council Bus Stop.

Meanwhile, the city bus that departs later in the day is BAS KITē heading to the Crystal Mosque. The KITē BAS on this route first departs at 9:30 am and only provides four trips a day. The last trip departs at five in the afternoon from Bus Stop Majlis Kuala Terengganu Airport.

Cheap but limited… Don’t worry, you can get around it.

With an average distance of two hours for each departure, I can visit at least three destinations on different routes. “ Just enjoy it, no need to rush……. ”, that’s how I think about these limitations.
