Kampung Agong Penang

Kampung Agong Penang

Built on a 10-hectare former coconut plantation, Kampung Agong offers plenty of photogenic backdrops for die-hard Instagrammers, and it’s even close to Mount Jerai! Located in Bakar Kapur in Penaga, this village-themed theme park features nyiur trees, rice fields, traditional wooden houses, as well as a replica piano, swing and a giant bird’s nest especially for Instagram that has been heating up social media since 2018, making it an hour’s drive from Penang is worth it.

Alang-alang is here, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Guar Kepah Archaeological Gallery. The gallery – just a 10-minute drive from Kampung Agong – is an archaeological site where visitors can admire the remains of ancient shell piles and a replica of a 5,000-year-old human skeleton known as the “Penang Woman”. From there, you can head to the Pinang Tunggal Railway Bridge to take pictures of the centuries-old wrought iron bridge. Although it is no longer in use, the bridge is a favorite object for photographers who want to capture the engineering feats built in the past.
