Gertak Sanggul Penang

Gertak Sanggul Penang

Away from the crowded Batu Ferringhi beach, Gertak Sanggul has some beautiful secluded beaches to visit! With a high rocky headland projecting into the green emerald sea, and waving ru trees and nyiur trees greening the atmosphere.

Ombak Damai Beach and Tanjung Asam Beach are indeed famous especially among photographers, whether they are avid Instagram users or photography enthusiasts.

There are many beachside restaurants in the area, so it’s common to see locals strolling around after a meal. If you want to do some extreme activities or just want to find a hidden spot for fishing, take a boat to Pulau Kendi which is located in the waters of Gertak Sanggul. The unspoiled forests and coastal areas of this uninhabited island have long been the focus of experienced anglers and intrepid visitors.

Penang War Museum.

There are several other nearby attractions for visitors to make the most of their vacation. Just a few minutes’ drive from Gertak Sanggul, the Penang War Museum in Batu Maung is known as the largest war museum in Southeast Asia. Visitors can see tunnels, war exhibits and related artefacts such as artillery firing ranges, anti-aircraft gun emplacements, sleeping quarters, cooking rooms and lock-ups in this former fort with a dark history. Another attraction worth visiting is Penang’s Snake Temple. Also known as the Blue Cloud Temple, this unique temple allows visitors to get up close and personal with snakes and experience this dangerous experience!
