Desaru not only has a sea with high waves for surfing, or the water theme park Desaru Coast , but there are also other attractions that not many people know about, like the fireflies at Bujang Fireflies.

This bachelor’s name is Timang-Timangan Taukeh who works on the activity of watching fireflies here.

Encik Bujang is great because in addition to firefly trips, he also raises cattle, fish in cages, fertigation plants and also a restaurant.

Back to Bujang Fireflies, here you will go down Sungai Lebam in a big boat.

If in Sabah, Kuala Selangor and Kuala Sepetang, you board a fishing boat, here the available boats can accommodate up to 50 people at a time.

This boat will take you to see the fireflies for about 30 minutes and it will depart from the restaurant area here.

If you come with children, maybe they are excited. You know, these fireflies will make the river bank look like a Christmas tree all year round.

Visitor Tips

1. For food, there is Bujang Fireflies floating restaurant. But it is often crowded with people. The food here is all set. So you can choose to set 2 people or 4 people or more. The available menu is seafood — from lobster to lokan and belangkas.
2. The road to Bujang Fireflies will go through a dark and quiet palm oil area (within 2-3 km). Do not come alone if you are female.
3. Because this is a river area, be prepared to face mosquitoes.
4. These fireflies flash at night. So don’t come at 12 noon because you want to go on this fireflies tour bro. Even so, Bujang Fireflies restaurant is open during the day, from lunch to dinner (closes at midnight).
