2024 Tourists to Malaysia Must Fill MDAC

For those of you who will travel to Malaysia in the near future, please note that there are rules in effect from January 1, 2024. What is that? Traveler now required to fill the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). This rule also applies to Indonesian passport holders.

“All foreign nationals traveling to Malaysia must fill the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC),” the announcement on the Malaysian immigration site said. “Effective January 1, 2024, filling this MDAC is a must, except for the following list.”

As for the list that entered the exception were Singaporean citizens, diplomatic passport holders, foreign arga holders of Malaysia’s long-term entry permits, tourists who have Brunei general identification certificates, Thai border permit holders, and Indonesian citizens holding Pas Cross Boundary. They don’t need to fill out this form.

And keep in mind, tourists from Indonesia or other countries must fill out this digital form within three days before departure.

The following steps fill out the MDAC form to enter Malaysia

  1. Visit the https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main site in the three days before departure.
  1. Select “Register”
  2. Fill in the self data in the available column, consisting of name, passport number, passport expiration date, date of birth, citizenship, and others. In this form jug aterdap travel information that includes arrival and departure dates, megninap addresses, arrival destinations, and more.

This digital arrival card was originally launched in January 2023 as a prerequisite for Singapore passport holders to use electronic gate facilities (e-gate) at two ground entry points at Johor Bahru.

Tourists coming from Australia, Brunei, Germany, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the United States, and the United Kingdom can also use Malaysia’s automatic entry system, also known as autogate.

Visitors who first come to Malaysia must register and verify their passports at the manual counter upon arrival, after which they can use the automatic gate. But if you have registered a passport on a previous visit, tourists can immediately use it autogate to enter and exit the country.
